Synopsis: Lights… Camera… ACTION! The cameras are rolling for the auditions of a made-for-TV super-team: WILDGUARD. Hundreds of superheroes will try out, but only five will have what it takes to make the team… If they survive!

Join a host of heroes, through the agony of competition and unforeseen dangers, as they hope to be selected by a panel of judges, including the mysterious Producer “X”.

Who will make the cut?

Review: Superheros are a personal favorite of mine. I love stories that revolve around the world of the modern superhero.  Wildgaurd is a fun book with enough characters, action, humor and fun to make your head explode. (in the best way possible). Nauck does a great job of creating a world where it is easy to believe that superheroes are real. Not only that these heroes are real but that they are everywhere.   The characters are introduced in a fast paced blurb that tells why they are on the reality show to join the made-for-TV super-team.  Each character takes on a life of their own and grabs the reader’s attention from page one.

By the second chapter in the book, I had already picked out my dream team of characters that I wanted to see win the competition. The tone of this book is great because it capitalizes on a lot of the reality TV shows that are on today. There will be a character for everyone to relate to and root for as the series progresses.

The conflict over the course of this book takes the form of real life super-villains disrupting the audition process by challenging the contestants for their, powers, fame and glory.  It seems that no matter what obstacles the producers prepare for the super-team hopefuls there are always more difficult challenges presented by the reality of becoming a real life super hero team.

The art is great and Nauck handles the double duty of writing and drawing with great skill. The art is strong and creates a solid base, which this world was formed on.
