1998

review by Terry Wickham

Fifty years ago a man killed his family. Now his last remaining relative, who lives in the same house, has opened it as a boarding house. One by one the tenants are knocked off, the question becomes will anyone discover how to defeat the man's old spirit and survive.

I really liked the way this story is set up. A young girl arrives at her boyfriend's house and finds a stack of comic books waiting on the front porch. When she gives the comics to her boyfriend, he says he doesn't know where they came from. They decide to read one together. This leads us into the story ala Creepshow. We see the story mentioned above with the house & tenants, and then film comes back to the two teenagers reading the comic.

Suddenly there is a knock on the boy's door. Who could it be? I won't say, so you can enjoy the movie yourself.
