HAUNTED
Cinematrix Releasing

review by Terry Wickham

Fifteen years ago, an actress named Kay Taggert (Suzan Spann) was mysteriously murdered while starring in a play. Now, the same producer Sol Brosky (Peter Tomarken) is mounting a new production in the same theater. People start dying and it becomes a mystery as to who is killing the folks now; the ghost of Kay Taggert or someone else? Though there is quite a bit of overacting and some characters miscast, the film held my attention for some strange reason. Actor Peter Tomarken stood out as producer Sol Brosky. The music score by Michael Barrow & RB really helped the film. Actress Yvette McClendon has a nice screen presence and though Dennis Devine's direction is a bit awkward at times, the film has a more mature feel than most micro-budget material I review. The video is predictable and it does have some scenes in total darkness (poor lighting), but I'd say this is a cut above the other stuff out there.
