– Saturday, April 26th, once again it is a gorgeous day in the City. Our day starts even earlier as we’ve got some time booked at the press office to take in some shorts, four feature films, and the New York Film Commission Party at the Target-Tribeca Filmmaker Lounge. In fact, a long day as we covered the Red Carpet fro the World Premier of Dying Breed. The first feature of the day is Killer Movie. |

- Saturday, April 26, 2008, the stars were up from down under for the gala screening of the new horror film DYING BREED that was held at the Village East Cinemas. Director Jody Dwyer’s feature debut utilizes the legendary true story of Alexander Pearce, an escaped convict known as "The Pieman," who claimed to have survived by eating his fellow escapees. Also driving the plot is another legend, the Tasmanian tiger, thought to be extinct but there continues to be report sightings of this elusive creature. The film stars Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek) and Leigh Whannell (SAW) walked the red carpet in support of the premier.

We got to enjoy a bit of the day, savoring the morning, as our screening day began at noon with The Wild Man of the Navidad. |

(Day One) - With the opening night party over, the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival was underway on Thursday, April 24th, with a full block of press and industry screenings through Thursday, May 1st. The festival runs through May 4th, for the rest of the film junkies. This year, the festival moved over to the east side of Manhattan, and a bit more uptown, as the screenings were held at either the Village Cinema East or the AMC Village VII, both theaters about a block away from the other.
